You need a VISA before you go to India
Everyone need a VISA to be able to enter India. It is in no way possible to arrange that on arrival to India. It has to be applied for and paid for in advance. As soon as you know you are going to India – you should arrange it immediately.
Online eVisa service. (suggested solution that will take just approx. 3 days time) You must have a confirmation that the Visa is approved before traveling!
Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland: Apply and pay online. Ones approved, you get the Visa delivered to your email. Print it out and bring along on your travel to India. Click here to start the process. Make sure you have a photo of the ID page of your passport in PDF format and a photo of yourself in JPG format ready. Assure the file size is less then 300KB.
In both cases, make yourself a good cup of coffee and be prepared to spend some time answering detailed questions. Among them, detailed contact details for a reference in India etc. Get in touch with us for this information before starting the process.
International flights to India
All major airlines have daily flights to and from the Nordics.
We strongly suggest arriving in India at least the night before one of our programs, to get a good night´s sleep to recover from the flight. You can of course book your ticket with any airline of your choice. For the individual programs, we will normally suggest a specific flight for our participants based on rates, timings and availability. Ask us before starting the booking process.
The name of the airport in Mumbai (Bombay) is Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. The airport code is (BOM).
Always let us know your flight number and we will suggest mode of transport or help you book transit to the hotel. We strongly suggest to arrange for the hotel to pick you up. Though it is more expensive then grabbing a pre-paid taxi at the airport, it will considerably soften the landing.
India has several very good domestic airlines at very reasonable rates. We recommend Indigo Airlines, Jet Airways or Go Air. Note that the domestic airlines has a limit of only 15 kg checked in luggage included in the rates.
The places we are visiting in our programs has high hygiene and sanitation standards.
For info and suggestion on vaccination, you can e.g. look at this website https://www.vaksine.no/reiseguide/land/india/
There are very good hotels available in the cities we are visiting in our programs. You get a good overview on sites like www.hotels.com
Though you can stay in any hotel of your own choice, we will always recommend a hotel for participants to a specific program. Get in touch before booking. If you prefer to stay in another hotel than recommended, please note that travel in cities like Mumbai can be very time consuming due to heavy traffic.
